After months of preparation, my co-authors and I present a bold and values-driven strategy to restore the EU's strategic autonomy.

Our new policy paper "The European Way – A Blueprint for Reclaiming Our Digital Future" has sparked wide interest, including coverage in the Financial Times, Euractiv, MLex, Table.Media,Tagesspiegel, WEB.DE, and Handelsblatt. Across outlets, the message is clear: Europe must act decisively to regain digital sovereignty, break through political deadlock, and reform its approach to tech governance.

In its 2025 work programme, the European Commission effectively scrapped the AI Liability Directive (AILD) – a move that threatens to unravel trust in the EU’s burgeoning AI policy landscape. This abrupt decision strips away potential critical protections for victims of AI-related harm and denies businesses the legal certainty they need to innovate.

My final overview of external activities is concluding 2 years of constant public engagement to bring transparency in EU policy-making.
