The CEPS publication titled "A Dataset of International Legal and Policy Instruments for the Digital World" introduces a comprehensive dataset aimed at enhancing research and policy analysis in the digital domain. This dataset encompasses key international legal and policy instruments, including recommendations and treaties, relevant to digital governance and transformation.

🚨 NEW Publication: Many of you know our 'Blue Wall' of digital legislation that J. Scott Marcus, Kamil Sekut and I have regularly updated for almost 3 years and that even made it in the Draghi report. It gives companies, organisations and citizens an easy and accessible way of understanding, which digital laws could be relevant in their specific situation.
Yet, I was always thinking that this is not really enough as - in particular relevant for multinational corporations - there is also tons of resolutions, declarations, agreements or treaties on the global stage to consider. Moreover, many EU laws are building up heavily on international work. One of the most recent examples is of course the AI Act that draws back on the 2019 OECD.AI / G20 principles. But there is also the work of the United Nations, World Trade Organization, G7/G20, Council of Europe, OSCE, NATO or even Free Trade Agreements.
There is good news: after Scott has moved to CEPS (Centre for European Policy Studies), we are happy to announce the publication of a complementary hashtag#international table of relevant digital instruments! Because of our optimistic nature and the CEPS branding, our table is however no longer a 'Blue Wall' but became a 'Green Wall' 😉 I hope this change of colour is symbolic for the - hopefully - successful outcome of the ongoing simplification project of the EU.
⚠️ As it is our first attempt: there will be mistakes and we will have missed relevant pieces. If you spot something wrong or missing, please let us know and we will add it to the table!
Finally, many thanks to Andrea Renda and the team of CEPS (Centre for European Policy Studies) for welcoming our project with open arms and all your amazing support!!!
